Bilbao Blues It was a visit to Frank Gehry's Guggenheim Museum, in the summer of 09, that first inspired me to produce a set of 3 experimental digital transformations (ie the black & white images shown below). Subsequently, these were selected for display at Digital 09 - Mysteries of Science held at the New York Hall of Science. (An explanation of their scientific relevance can be found online at Digital 09) Within the last 6 months, I have created many other images using a process of digital manipulation and addition. Their starting point is usually, but not always, an aspect of building geometry. For instance, Bilbao Blues makes reference to the fractal geometry of Gehry's Museum to produce a complex pattern of blue and grey fenestration. Terry Trickett |
