Jain Water-lilies The gardens at Shree Sheetalnathji Temple, Kolkata, are even more exotic than its buildings. They contain a series of circular planting arrangements that are gently convex in elevation. By inverting these same features to render them concave they give the illusion of becoming giant water-lilies. The eye doesn't always accept this transition; sometimes it sees the original convex form before reverting again to the concave replacement. |
